In the commencement speech below, author Toni Morrison discusses one's life being similar to a piece of art and why it is important that each individual holds the "paintbrush."
Your task this week will be as follows:
1. Watch the 2004 College Commencement Address given by Toni Morrison at Wellesley College.
2. Write a reaction to the video being sure to note what statements of Morrison that made you think or "struck you" as you listened to her speech. (20 points, by Tuesday, February 7th at 11:59 p.m.)
3. Write another post where you discuss a character from any piece of literature, be it from a comic, movie, book, et cetera, that has a dual nature, but makes some "art" of themselves by the end of the piece. Be sure to provide a link to the work so everyone can find out a bit more about your reference. (30 points, by Thursday, February 9th at 11:59 p.m.)
4. Choose a classmate's response and write a reaction. Your response can be for what was said about the video or what was shared about the dual character. (20 points, by Sunday, February 12th at 11:59 p.m.)
